HCM Ciader welcomes Cambodian Minister of Cults and Religion

HCM City always respects and treasures the sound relations with Cambodia’s ministries, branches and localities, helping consolidate the traditional neighborly friendship between the two countries, said Permanent Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Lê Thanh Liêm.

HCM CITY – HCM City always respects and treasures the sound relations with Cambodia’s ministries, branches and localities, helping consolidate the traditional neighborly friendship between the two countries, said Permanent Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Lê Thanh Liêm. 

Hosting Senior Minister and Minister of Cults and Religion of Cambodia Him Chhem yesterday, Liêm hailed the outcome of talks between the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the Cambodian religion ministry. 
He said that they demonstrate the efforts of both sides to promote religious cooperation, making contributions to the traditional friendship and comprehensive collaboration between the two nations in general and between the Việt Nam Buddhist Sangha and Cambodian Buddhism in particular. 
Him Chhem, for his part, briefed the host on the talks with the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, saying that the two religious management bodies outlined orientations to foster cooperative ties in 2018 as part of efforts to consolidate solidarity and friendship between the two nations. 
Expressing his impression when visiting the Củ Chi tunnel relic site, he spoke highly of Vietnamese people’s patriotism during the struggle for national independence and reunification. 
He also took the occasion to thank the Vietnamese people and army for supporting Cambodia in escaping the Pol Pot genocide regime so Cambodian people can enjoy a peaceful, stable and prosperous life today. — VNS
