VIENTIANE – The Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) will continue working closely with the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) to increase exchanges of theoretical information and Party building experience and support each other to realise the resolutions of their Parties national congresses.
The affirmation was made by Trương Thị Mai, Politburo member and head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation, during her meeting with LPRP General Secretary and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith yesterday.
Mai, who is in Vientiane to attend the fourth theoretical workshop between the parties, congratulated Laos on its enormous achievements over the three decades of reforms and expressed her delight at the two neighbours’ increasing amity and co-operation.
The fourth workshop, she said, will help clarify theoretical and practical issues relating to international integration of the two countries.
Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith hailed the growing bilateral ties, voicing his belief that under the CPV’s leadership, Việt Nam will harvest greater attainments and successfully implement the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress.
He said the theoretical work was critical to both parties and this workshop allows them to share experience in international integration. They should continue exchanging information and discussing specialised topics so as to shed light on pressing problems facing their countries, he urged.
In her introductory speech, Mai said the CPV defined international integration as a major strategic orientation in national development and protection.
Meanwhile, Kikeo Khaykhamthiphun, head of the LPRP Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education, said his party was persistent in enhancing its leadership amidst international integration, adding that Laos would actively integrate into the world so as to successfully realise the Resolution of the LPRP’s 10th National Congress. – VNS
