Sydney – A delegation from the Lao Embassy in Australia visited the Vietnamese Embassy on September 4 to extend their congratulations on the 79th anniversary of Việt Nam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2024).

At the event, Lao Ambassador Sinchai Manivanh congratulated Việt Nam on its significant achievements over the past 79 years, and stressed the importance of the two nations’ great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation. Laos’ peace, stability, and prosperity are partly attributed to the collaboration with and support from Việt Nam, he affirmed.

With global challenges affecting the socio-economic conditions and the life of their people, Việt Nam and Laos are determined to assist each other, reflecting their deep fraternal bond and tradition of mutual assistance, he said.

In response, Vietnamese Ambassador Phạm Hùng Tâm expressed his delight at the rapid development of the nations’ cooperative relations in all fields. Việt Nam will continue to support Laos in its role as the chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) this year, he stated.

The diplomat said he wishes the two embassies would strengthen their coordination and mutual support, contributing to deepening the sound relations between the two ministries of foreign affairs and promoting effective cooperation between each country and Australia, as well as within regional and multilateral frameworks.
