HÀ NỘI — The inspection sector discovered economic violations of more than VNĐ92.7 trillion (US$3.6 billion) and involving 292.5ha of land in the first six months this year.
The numbers were announced during a national conference summarising its work during the first half this year and to order tasks for the remaining six months.
Presenting the Government Inspectorate's report, Deputy Inspector General Đặng Công Huẩn said that the industry had implemented 3,910 administrative inspections and 58,025 specialised ones.
The sector issued 49,982 decisions to punish administrative violations of organisations and individuals to an overall amount of more than VNĐ2 trillion ($77.9 million).
It proposed looking at administrative handling for 856 groups and 3,862 individuals and transferred investigations for revue of 94 cases and 73 people.
Main tasks
Drawing a working plan from now until the end of this year, Inspector General Đoàn Hồng Phong requested the inspectorate to effectively implement the Government's resolutions and strongly innovate leadership and administration methods to create positive changes.
The sector must closely follow the programme on preventing and combating corruption, enforcement of Party discipline and auditing activities.
An important work is urgently completing a large-scale specialised inspection on planning, and reporting the implementation results to the Government Inspectorate and the Prime Minister.
The sector should further strengthen post-inspection review, especially regarding money, property, land and violated officials.
One more duty is receiving citizens, resolving their complaints and denunciations, enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of dealing with their petitions.
Provincial and municipal people's committees should do a good job of receiving citizens, proactively grasping the situation of their complaints, resolving them right the outset. Care should be paid to complex cases, especially cases related to agricultural land and forestry farms.
Another task of the inspection sector is to perform regulations on asset and income control. Officials who cause trouble and harassment to the people and businesses while doing public duties will be dealt with.
In the future, the sector will consolidate a streamlined inspection staff that operates effectively and efficiently. It will set up a force of professional, disciplined, responsible, integrity, courageous and leading inspection officers in fighting against corruption.
Leaders of the sector will promote their spirit and responsibility of setting good examples and enhance the solidarity and unity in inspection agencies.
One more central task is strengthening internal inspection and strictly handling workers who commit violations, especially related to corruption.
The role of the Fatherland Front, socio-political organisations, press agencies and the entire political system will be promoted to heighten the effectiveness of inspection work, citizen reception, and preventing and combating corruption. — VNS
