HÀ NỘI — President of the Philippines Rodrigo Roa Duterte will pay an official visit to Việt Nam on September 28-29, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.

The Philippines President’s visit will be made at the invitation of his counterpart, President Trần Đại Quang, according to MoFA yesterday.

Since Việt Nam and the Philippines set up diplomatic ties in 1976, the bilateral ties have been nurtured based on amity, equality, mutual respect and cooperation beneficial to the peoples of both nations.

The two countries upgraded bilateral ties to strategic partnership level in 2015 with a view to elevate the diplomatic level, intensity of bilateral exchanges and to harness advantages for common development. — VNS
