HÀ NỘI — Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Tòng Thị Phóng, on May 17 received Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly Somphai Phengkhammy, who currently is on an official visit to Việt Nam.

While expressing congratulations for the achievements that the country and people of Laoshave achieved in recent years, Phóng affirmed that the National Assembly of Việt Namwill do its best along with the Lao National Assembly to strengthen exchange of information and experience in the legislative field as well as co-operate on issues that affect both countries.

Somphai Phengkhammy informed Phóng of the results of the delegation’s visit with the National Assembly delegation and the Standing Committee of the People’s Council of Hải Phòng City, including issues related to the exchange of experiences improving the capacity of elected officials at the local level. — VNS
