Việt Nam considers co-operation with Boeing a long-term priority, and the Government will create all favourable conditions for the US company to expand investments in the country, said Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc at a reception for President and Chief Executive Officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Kevin McAllister in Hà Nội yesterday.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam considers co-operation with Boeing a long-term priority, and the Government will create all favourable conditions for the US company to expand investments in the country, said Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc at a reception for President and Chief Executive Officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Kevin McAllister in Hà Nội yesterday.

He added that he hoped Boeing and Vietnamese Airlines will reach co-operation agreements in the future.

The PM asked the biggest airplane manufacturer in the US to continue supporting Vietnamese partners in conducting efficient flights with quality aircraft.

He called for Boeing’s assistance in opening a pilot training centre in Việt Nam in the near future.

Vietnam Airlines has purchased a large number of Boeing airplanes. The PM expressed his belief that this development, and the growing cooperation between Việt Nam and the US, heralds an ever-strengthening relationship with the American company.

He noted that Việt Nam had launched direct flights to the UK and Australia, and expressed his hope that Boeing will support Việt Nam in operating direct flights to the US—a development that would be a significant milestone in Việt Nam-US relations.

For his part, McAllister said he is impressed by Việt Nam’s socio-economic development, especially the rapid growth of the country’s aviation market.

Việt Nam could become a partner to supply components for the production of Boeing airplanes, he said, adding that the US company would continue providing the best-quality aircraft for Việt Nam.
