HÀ NỘI – As part of his visit in Hà Nội yesterday, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe expressed his desire to help Việt Nam implement managerial personnel training projects.
“Human resources training is very important,” Abe said during a meeting with Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of the committee’s Organisation Commission Phạm Minh Chính.
He praised the intensive, practical co-operation between the two countries’ parliamentary groups, which he said helped enhance Việt Nam-Japan relations.
Chính, who is also Chairman of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group, celebrated thriving ties between the two nations with strong political trust and growing collaboration in security-defence, economics, agriculture and local exchanges.
Appreciating the activities of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, Chính said he hoped that the Japanese PM would continue supporting the two groups in their contributions to Việt Nam-Japan relations.
The same day, the Japanese leader met with the President of Hà Nội-based Vietnam National University (VNU) Nguyễn Kim Sơn and lecturers and students from the VNU’s Vietnam-Japan University.
Sơn proposed the PM promote official development assistance (ODA) investment in the Vietnam-Japan University as well as its organisational, operational and financial regulations.
Abe called the university an important co-operation project between Việt Nam and Japan, which is expected to train high-quality human resources for both countries. — VNS
