HÀ NỘI – Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc suggested enhancing cooperation between Việt Nam and the Czech Republic in order to further expand the bilateral relations in a more effective manner.
The PM spoke at a reception in Hà Nội on Saturday for the Chairman of the Communist Party of the Czech Republic and Moravia, Vojtech Filip.
He expressed his hope that the Communist Party of the Czech Republic and Moravia, and the Czech Parliament and Government will continue creating favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community living in the Czech Republic to serve as a bridge promoting cooperation and friendship between the two nations.
Briefing the guest on Việt Nam’s socio-economic development, the PM said Việt Nam is active in building a socialist-oriented market economy under the leadership of the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV).
For his part, Chairman Vojtech Filip, who is also Vice Chairman of the Czech Parliament’s Chamber of Deputies ( lower house ), praised Việt Nam’s achievements, saying he believes the CPV and Vietnamese people will achieve even greater success in national construction and development.
He also expressed hope that his country and Vietnam would promote trade and economic cooperation mechanisms. Filip proposed tightening future cooperation, especially in the economy, trade and defence and in areas of his country’s strength.
A number of major Czech companies are on fact-finding tours to Việt Nam on the occasion of his visit to seek cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese partners, he noted.
The two sides should also increase people-to-people exchanges towards strengthening mutual understanding between the two peoples, he stressed. - VNS
