Top leader stresses strategic-level personnel planning

Training a core group of government officials is key to building a better and safer Việt Nam for the future. That was the message from Party General Secretary, President Nguyễn Phú Trọng who was speaking at a meeting in Hà Nội yesterday.

HÀ NỘI – Training a core group of government officials is key to building a better and safer Việt Nam for the future.

That was the message from General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam Central Committee (CPVCC), President Nguyễn Phú Trọng who was speaking at a meeting in Hà Nội yesterday.

He wants to set a group of strategic officials who have the right moral code and prestige to lead the country.

Specifically, they must have knowledge in a number of different fields, including political theory.

He stressed more attention must be paid to training people to become Party officials, especially those with outstanding intellect in politics and science.   

He shared other opinions raised at the meeting that the planning should be conducted step by step, with regular reviews. 

Representatives of the CPVCC’s Organisation Commission announced decisions of the Politburo and Secretariat to establish a steering board for the building of the strategic personnel planning for the 2021-26 tenure and its assistant group. 

It will comprise of six members led by Party General Secretary, President Trọng, while its 12-member assistant group is led by Phạm Minh Chính, Politburo member, Secretary of the CPVCC and head of the CPVCC’s Organisation Commission. 

Party General Secretary, President Trọng underlined the importance of the board as well as its assistant group, and asked them to make sure their work is carried in a fair way. 

Later this month, all-level Party committees and organisations, localities and agencies are scheduled to begin introducing officials for the 13th Party Central Committee. – VNS
