HÀ NỘI – The Government Inspectorate of Việt Nam (GIV) and the Government Inspection Authority of Laos (GIA) are hoped to expand and deepen their comprehensive co-operation, especially in experience exchange.
Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc made the remark while receiving the Deputy Prime Minister of Laos, President of the GIA and Head of the Anti-Corruption Authority, Bounthong Chitmany, in Hà Nội yesterday.
The PM hailed the Lao Government for launching anti-corruption campaigns. He told the guest about corruption prevention and prosecution in Việt Nam and reiterated the country’s strong determination in this drive.
Bounthong Chitmany said the Lao Government resolutely prevents and handles corruption while reinforcing Party building from the central to grassroots levels.
He welcomed PM Phúc’s order for closure of natural forests in the Central Highlands to mitigate illegal logging.
The GIA hopes to continue exchanging professional experience with Việt Nam in inspection work, particularly handling complaints and denouncements, and preventing corruption, he said, adding that this will help further the traditional friendship, special amity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
During earlier talks, Bounthong Chitmany and Governor Inspector General of Việt Nam Phan Văn Sáu agreed on necessary measures to sign further cooperation agreements between the two sides at the end of 2016.
