Deputies hope new Government meets voters’ aspirations

National Assembly deputies have pinned high hopes on the Government for the 2016-2021 tenure after hearing Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc’s inaugural address on Tuesday, in which he pledged to build a Government serves the people and spurs growth.

HÀ NỘI – National Assembly deputies have pinned high hopes on the Government for the 2016-2021 tenure after hearing Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc’s inaugural address on Tuesday, in which he pledged to build a Government serves the people and spurs growth.

Lưu Bình Nhưỡng, a deputy from the Mekong Delta province of Bến Tre, said he was impressed by the PM’s speech as it demonstrated the Government’s resolve to implement Party policies.

Issues raised by the Government leader including training and handling environmental pollution are important to national socio-economic development, he said.

Ngô Sách Thực, a representative from the northern province of Bắc Giang, said the PM focused on the Government’s tasks for the next five years.

The Government should take more drastic actions, turn words into actions and complete institutions to build a rule-of-law State, the deputy suggested.

Applauding the actions the Government has taken over the past three months since it was elected by the 13th NA last April, lawmaker Nguyễn Đức Kiên from the Mekong Delta province of Sóc Trăng reviewed the Government’s performance in tackling marine pollution caused by Formosa Hà Tinh Steel Co. Ltd and the severe drought in the southwestern region.

PM Phúc and the new Government built trust and met the expectations of the people thanks to actions towards multiple economic matters, especially regarding the business climate and competitiveness.

Kien stressed that the PM’s meetings with labourers were a new step taken by the new Government.

Lê Thị Thúy, a representative from the northern province of Hải Dương, said the PM and the Government have kept watch on all matters and expressed her hope that the PM and the Government will achieve the action plan set for the next five years.

The Government is likely to meet the aspirations of voters and people nationwide, the deputy said. — VNS
