95% of eligible voters cast ballots in HCMC as of 5 pm.
May 22,porto – arouca 2016 - 18:00Nearly 95 per cent of HCM City’s voters voted at 3,200 voting stations as of 5 pm.
HCM CITY — Nearly 95 per cent of HCM City’s voters had voted as of 5 pm at 3,200 voting stations.
According to figures from the HCM City Election Council, Củ Chi District had the highest voting rate of 99.6 percent at that time.
Sixteen communes and wards had completed voting by 5 pm.
Thạnh An Island Commune in Cần Giờ District also completed voting at around the same time.
Nguyễn Thị Quyết Tâm, chairwoman of both HCM City’s People’s Council and Election Council, asked district election committees to identify the remaining voters who had not yet cast ballots.
She said that local officials could visit the houses of absent voters and request that they cast their vote before the polls close at 7 pm. — VNS
