VN welcomes DPRK-US summit outcomes

Việt Nam welcomes and highly values the outcomes of the summit between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the US which took place in Singapore on June 12, said spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of Việt Nam Lê Thị Thu Hằng.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam welcomes and highly values the outcomes of the summit between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States, which took place in Singapore on June 12, according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lê Thị Thu Hằng. 

Hằng made the statement in response to reporters’ questions regarding the outcomes of the DPRK-US summit in Hà Nội yesterday. 

“We hope that the implementation of agreements reached at the DPRK-US summit will bring about positive results, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, co-operation and development in Northeast Asia and the world,” Hằng said.

Hằng emphasised Việt Nam’s persistent stance on supporting denuclearisation, peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, and settling all issues by peaceful measures and on the basis of international law. — VNS
