HÀ NỘI — Fulbright University Việt Nam (FUV) is a result of educational cooperation between Việt Nam and the US, particularly in the field of high-quality human resources training, said spokeswoman for the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman Phạm Thu Hằng on Monday.

In response to a reporter's query about Fulbright University Việt Nam's activities, Hằng said Việt Nam welcomes its activities, as affirmed in the Joint Statement on upgrading Việt Nam-US relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2023.

“We hope and believe that Fulbright University Việt Nam will continue to make practical contributions to the development of the growing friendship and cooperation between Việt Nam and the US”, Hằng stressed.

The two countries' leaders -- the late General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng and US President Joe Biden -- "applauded the work of Fulbright University Việt Nam (FUV) and its growing role as a regional hub for public policy training, recognising the vital importance of investing in human capital as a critical resource for future prosperity, security, stability, and development," as per the joint statement in 2023. - VNS
