NA Vice Chairman hosts Ukrainian legislators

HÀ NỘI — Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Đỗ Bá Tỵ yesterday received a delegation of the Ukraine-Việt Nam Friendship Parliamentarians Group led by its chairwoman Yurynets Oksana Vasylivna.

Tỵ affirmed Việt Namalways attached importance to strengthening and developing friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with long-time partners, including Ukraine. 

He praised the close coordination and mutual support between the two countries at recent international organisations and forums, including Ukraine’s commitment to supporting Việt Nam’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) during the 2020-21 tenure. 

He asked the parliaments and parliamentarians of both countries to maintain and increase coordination and support each other at multilateral inter-parliamentary forums in which Việt Nam and Ukraineare members. 

Tỵ proposed the Ukrainian parliament and concerned agencies continue creating favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Ukraineto live, study and work. 

Chairwoman Vasylivna expressed her wish that both countries’ parliamentarians will promote their role as representatives of regions and localities to boost connectivity between Ukraineand Việt Namin the field of economy, trade and investment. 

Earlier, the Việt Nam-Ukraine Friendship Parliamentarians Group led by deputy head of the NA Finance - Budget Committee Đinh Văn Nhã held talks with their Ukrainian counterpart. 

During the talks, both groups’ leaders expressed their joy at the thriving economic co-operation of the two countries, while affirming that contact between the two countries’ parliamentarians is a good opportunity for the two legislative bodies to exchange information, experience in making laws and supervising issues of shared concern. 

The Ukraine-Việt Nam Friendship Parliamentarians Group delegation is on a working visit to Việt Namfrom April 23-28. — VNS
