Special communique on President’s passing

The Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government and the Central Committee of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front have issued a special communiqué, announcing that President Trần Đại Quang died at 10:05am on September 21, 2018, and his funeral will be held as a national mourning.

The General Assembly of the United Nations on Friday afternoon (local time) held a minute’s silence to remember Vietnamese President Trần Đại Quang before opening its third plenary session with the participation of 193 member nations. — VNA/VNS Photo Hoài Thanh
