State Audit told to work harder to prevent losses

HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has urged the State Audit Office of Việt Nam (SAV) to work harder to uncover those responsible for the misuse of State resources that trigger losses and waste of public assets. 

The PM told a working session of the SAV that any wrongdoings by individuals and organisations found by the SAV, ministries and sectors should be dealt with stringently. 

He highlighted the close co-ordination between the SAV and the Government in amending and abolishing backward institutions, policies and laws as well as in preventing, handling and recovering lost State budget money and assets. 

He asked for closer collaboration between the SAV and the Government Inspectorate in auditing work so that any overlapping in inspection and audit activities could be avoided. 

PM Phúc also underlined the need to build plans for auditing big projects, thus preventing them from facing losses or committing wrongdoings. 

According to reports from the SAV, the agency carried out 257 audits in ministries, sectors, localities and enterprises, detecting mistakes in budget collection and expenditures, as well as in recruitment of civil servants. — VNS
