President welcomes new ambassadors to Việt Nam

HÀ NỘI — President Trần Đại Quang hosted separate receptions in Hà Nội on Tuesday for newly-appointed ambassadors of Sudan, Peru, Zambia, Afghanistan, Namibia and Bolivia.

At his meeting with Sudanese Ambassador Mohamed Elmurtada Mubarak Ismail Siraq, Quang congratulated Sudan on the lifting of the embargo, thus gaining opportunities to expand trade and boost its socio-economic development in the future.

Welcoming Peruvian Ambassador Augusto Morelli Salgado, Quang said that in the coming time, the two nations should promote existing co-operation mechanisms while expanding co-operative ties in new areas.

Speaking at the reception for Zambian Ambassador Walubita Imakando, the President said that the two countries should sign co-operation deals and increase delegation exchanges to improve mutual understanding and fully tap each other’s potential.

Việt Nam is willing to share experiences in national development, especially in agriculture, to assist Zambia in ensuring food security, he said.

In the meeting with Afghan Ambassador Janan Mosazai, the Vietnamese leader lauded Afghanistan for its efforts to overcome many difficulties to notch achievements in national development. He affirmed Việt Nam’s policy of supporting the international community’s efforts to stabilise the situation in Afghanistan.

Meeting Namibian Ambassador Elia George Kaiyamo, Quang appraised the country’s national development strategy, which focuses on speeding up industrialisation and boosting the development of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises in order to diversify the economy and create jobs.

At the reception for Bolivian Ambassador Heriberto Quispe Charca, the State leader proposed that Việt Nam and Bolivia should increase delegation exchanges to reinforce political trust, while negotiating new co-operation deals in all fields and improving the efficiency of economic and trade partnerships. — VNS
