HÀ NỘI — The next National Assembly meeting session will take place from October 23 to November 22, announced the NA Secretary General Nguyễn Hạnh Phúc yesterday.
After the first working day of the 12th session of the NA’s Standing Committee (NASC), it was scheduled that the next NA meeting would review and vote on six draft laws while discussing another 12.
The NA’s hearings - during which cabinet members are grilled over issues in their fields - will last for three days, which is the same duration as during the third NA meeting.
According to the NA Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân, the NASC meeting this time will last one and a half days, focusing on the outcomes of the NA’s third session, which took place from May 22 to June 21.
The committee will also discuss preparations for the fourth NA session in October, the ratification of Protocol 7 on the customs transit system under the ASEAN Framework Agreement in order to facilitate the transit of goods in Việt Nam, and policies for public servants and staff working in the Institute for Legislative Studies.
According to Ngân, the NASC will begin meeting on the tenth day of each month, except when it coincides with holidays or other major events. The meetings will not last for more than 7 days. — VNS
